"Cannon Street Sam" was recorded in Taos, New Mexico, spanning three days of solitude in the Arroyo Seco area. After relocating to Austin in February, I experienced a lull in music recording. As May arrived and the weather warmed, I sought solace in Taos to clear my mind. While these recordings aren't flawless, they capture raw emotion in a single mix. The process was undoubtedly experimental, and the room carried a distinct adobe reverb.

My journey began with a cover of Charlie Rich's "Rolling with the Flow," which served as a sort of theme song for my adventure. Notably, I had lost a dear friend named Sam, who was my previous neighbor. Sam's wonderfully unique and neurodivergent personality earned him the title of "my main man" in the song. I composed these lyrics while recording this demo. While I intend to create a more polished version eventually, I find the raw emotion compelling.

The demo also includes another cover, "Sympathy for the Devil," with subtly layered vocals. Additionally, there are other stream-of-consciousness tracks. I genuinely hope you find enjoyment in listening to this demo, as I did in its creation.
