This Album was recorded in Marfa Texas for "Super Secret Records" out of Austin Texas. I was doing shows as "white Chocolate Rainbow Destroyer" at the time which was a big loud band by the end of it featuring Drums, synth, bass, guitar , Violin etc. It had started out as an electro ambient duo... anyway. I was about to move to Marfa and had a last show booked at "the electric Church" in Austin. I ended up just doing a solo set with Kick drum and Baritone Guitar. In the Audience was this guy Richard who loved the set so much that he wanted to sign me to a record deal. This sort of gave the boost I needed to continue on a musical path. I was planning on that show to be my last. So... I moved to Marfa in far south west Texas and started recording at first in the 1958 Spartan Trailer that we had moved there and then to Marfa Recording Service where I used the space and amps and some outboard gear to track this album myself. I spent about 2 months putting it together. It was then sent to Jeff Zeigler in Philadelphia to mix. I had met Jeff when I was tour manager/Foh for "frightened Rabbit" . I thought of hime because Scott, the singer of F.R. had taken his life just before I started tracking/writing this. I ended up selecting some material that I had been working on when I was touring with frightened Rabbit. sort of a classics homage or something like that. I sent it to Chicago Mastering and Had Rowdy Dugan take the photos in Marfa. Richard had a misfortunate event where he went broke and went under taking many along for the ride. So... this was the end of Super Secret Records and the Album was just sitting there at Chicago Mastering waiting on payment. They did a great job,But Richard and super secret didn't pay them. So it was dead in the water. I ended up just mastering it myself and releasing it digitally here. Maybe it will come to life in the form of Vinyl some day or maybe it was never supposed to be released.
Anyway. Here it is "WASH AWAY" 8 tracks of classics all recorded with Kick drum, guitar and vocals (some looping as well) I hope that you enjoy it.
